Mindy Lucas - Foundation Governor - Term of office ends October 2009
Mindy is our Chair of Governors and also a member of the Finance and Personnel Committees, Teaching and Learning Working Party and Governors Newsletter Working Party.
Mindy has lived in Horsington for 15 years and is married with 4 children. She works as an editor and researcher. She helps in school once a week. As a Foundation Governor she is keen to retain the school's Christian ethos.

Nicola Epps - Parent Governor - Term of office ends October 2009
Nicola is the Vice-Chair of Governors. She is a member of the Finance and Personnel Committees, also the Teaching and Learning Working Party. Nicola lives in South Cheriton and has had two very happy children at the school. She is in the final year of her second four year term as a Governor at Horsington. She believes in providing all children with a high quality, challenging and creative education.

Lorna Allen - Parent Governor – Term of office ends October 2009
Lorna is a member of the Human Resources Committee and was elected as a Parent Governor in September 2006 just after her daughter started at Horsington School. She now has both her children at school, in Years 2 and 3 and they both thoroughly enjoy every single day there.

She had wanted to be a governor for as long as she can remember and to be involved in something where she could give something back. She feels that the children are receiving the best possible start in their journey of education and she can now give something back in thanks for that by helping out where she can and by being a dedicated and involved school governor.

Mary Alexander - Teacher Governor - Term of office ends September 2010
Mary has taught at the school since September 1999 and is our Senior Teacher. She is a member of the Learning Environment Committee. She enjoys the rich variety of life in school and is particularly involved in encouraging a wide range of musical activities.

Jill Smith - Parent Governor - Term of office ends August 2012.
Jill is the Special Educational Needs link Governor and a member of the Learning Environment Committee. She is married and has one daughter who is thoroughly enjoying school life in Year 1 / Water Class. The reason she became a Governor was primarily to give something back to the school, she also wanted to become involved so she could learn more about today’s education system. She is in her first year as a Governor and feels privileged to be on the Governing Body of such a successful, happy school.
On a personal level she works as a Sales Trainer and Event Planner for a healthcare company. Her interests away from work centre on trying to keep fit, walking the dog Duke and socialising.

Judith Ham - Staff Governor - Term of office ends September 2010
Judith is a member of the Learning Environment Committee. Judith works in the Reception/Year 1 class as an HLTA, a job that she finds rewarding and very privileged to have. She enjoys getting involved with all aspects of school life and being a governor enables her to have a more rounded view of the school.

Peter Hallett - Ex Officio
Peter is a member of the Human Resources Committee. He has been the Rector of Horsington since 1st April 2007 - though Priest in Charge since June 21st 2006. He has lived in Henstridge since 1986. He is married with four children and four grandchildren.

Belinda Salthouse - Parent Governor - Term of office ends October 2008
Belinda is a member of the Teaching and Learning Working Party. She lives in North Cheriton with her husband and their son who is a pupil at Horsington Primary School. As a parent governor she is proud to be involved with a school where the children are happy and parents and staff work together so well. She is a qualified paediatric nurse [but not working], enjoys many crafts and helps in school once a week.

Helen Smith - Parent Governor - Term of office ends August 2010
Helen is a member of the Finance Committee. Helen currently has one child at Horsington School, her second daughter will be starting at the school this September. She has been a governor at the school since September 2006 and is enjoying the challenge and realises that she still has a lot to learn. She says that it is a privilege to be a governor at such a great school.

Sue Morgan - PCC Governor - Term of office ends December 2009
Sue is a member of the Teaching and Learning Working Party. She has lived in Horsington since 1969 when her children attended Horsington School. She has been associated with St. John's Church since then and is currently a member of the PCC.

Ian Rumbelow - Headteacher
Ian is a member of all the Committee and Working Party meetings. Ian has been Headteacher of the school since September 1998. He has guided the school through 2 successful OFSTED Inspections. He has a particular interest in developing a holistic approach to teaching and learning.

Paul White - Community Governor - Term of office ends January 2009
Paul is a member of the Finance Committee. Paul has been a Governor for two years, going into school once a week to help with reading. He is a father of two grown up sons, and now a grandfather. He has long been a keen bridge player, an enthusiastic walker, and recently has become a Trustee to a west country charity.

Louise Woolway - LEA Governors - Term of office ends August 2009
Louise is a member of the Learning Environment Committee. She has one son who is extremely happy at Horsington School. Louise works full time as a Local Authority Manager and is also studying part time for a master's degree. Free time is a little limited but she enjoys running and keeping fit


Donna Banfield – Community Governor – Term of office ends June 2012
Donna is a member of the Finance Committee and the Teaching and Learning Working Party. Donna is married with two boys, the youngest of which has just started his first term at Horsington in Water Class/Reception. Donna was asked to become a governor in June this year and felt that it would be an important opportunity to become part of the school and local community. Donna is keen to understand and support the teaching of curriculum and non-curriculum activities within the school.
