Lorna Allen - Parent Governor – Term of office ends November 2013
Lorna is Chair of the Human Resources Committee and a member of the Learning Environment and Finance Committee. She was elected as a Parent Governor in September 2005 when her daughter started Horsington School. She now has both her children at school, in Years 3 and 4 and they both thoroughly enjoy every single day.

She had wanted to be a governor for as long as she can remember and wanted to be involved in something where she could give something back. She feels that the children are receiving the best possible start in their journey of education and she can now give something back in thanks for that by being a dedicated and involved school governor.

Mary Alexander - Teacher Governor - Term of office ends September 2010
Mary has taught at the school since September 1999 and is our Senior Teacher. She is a member of the Learning Environment Committee. She enjoys the rich variety of life in school and is particularly involved in encouraging a wide range of musical activities.

Jill Smith - Parent Governor - Term of office ends August 2012.
Jill is the Special Educational Needs link Governor and a member of the Learning Environment Committee. She is married and has one daughter who is thoroughly enjoying school life in Year 1 / Water Class. The reason she became a Governor was primarily to give something back to the school, she also wanted to become involved so she could learn more about today’s education system. She is in her first year as a Governor and feels privileged to be on the Governing Body of such a successful, happy school.
On a personal level she works as a Sales Trainer and Event Planner for a healthcare company. Her interests away from work centre on trying to keep fit, walking the dog Duke and socialising.

Judith Ham - Staff Governor - Term of office ends September 2010
Judith is a member of the Learning Environment Committee. Judith works in the Reception/Year 1 class as an HLTA, a job that she finds rewarding and very privileged to have. She enjoys getting involved with all aspects of school life and being a governor enables her to have a more rounded view of the school.

Peter Hallett - Ex Officio
Peter is a member of the Human Resources Committee. He has been the Rector of Horsington since 1st April 2007 - though Priest in Charge since June 21st 2006. He has lived in Henstridge since 1986. He is married with four children and four grandchildren.

Belinda Salthouse - Parent Governor - Term of office ends October 2012
Belinda is a member of the Teaching and Learning Working Party, she is also our Training Governor. She lives in North Cheriton with her husband and their son who is a pupil at Horsington Primary School. As a parent governor she is proud to be involved with a school where the children are happy and parents and staff work together so well. She is a qualified paediatric nurse [but not working], enjoys many crafts and helps in school twice a week.

Helen Smith - Parent Governor - Term of office ends August 2010
Helen has 3 children at the school, and works part time from home in the research industry. She has been a Governor since September 2006 and has recently taken over as Vice Chair of Governors. She is a member of the HR and Finance committees and Teaching and Learning working party. She continues to enjoy the challenge of the role and working alongside the great team at Horsington"

Sue Morgan - PCC Governor - Term of office ends December 2013
Sue is a member of the Teaching and Learning Working Party. She has lived in Horsington since 1969 when her children attended Horsington School. Sue is a member of St. John’s Church and helps with their Sunday School. She is keen to keep the church informed of the school’s activities and needs so that they can give any help they can.

Ian Rumbelow - Headteacher
Ian is a member of all the Committee and Working Party meetings. Ian has been Headteacher of the school since September 1998. He has guided the school through 2 successful OFSTED Inspections. He has a particular interest in developing a holistic approach to teaching and learning.

Sarah White – Community Governor – Term of office ends March 2013
Sarah is a member of the Finance Committee. She has been involved with education and training all her working life. She is passionate about the importance of giving children a well-rounded education, which is what children at this school are fortunate enough to enjoy.

Sarah lives in Horsington village and is delighted to have been elected a governor. She has recently retired and is now able to take a more active role in the local community; she is a Trustee of the Balsam Centre in Wincanton and currently Secretary to the village hall. She enjoys the countryside and is often to be seen walking round the marsh or through the village.

Donna Banfield – Community Governor – Term of office ends June 2012
Donna is a member of the Finance Committee and the Teaching and Learning Working Party. Donna is married with two boys. She was asked to become a governor in June 2008 and felt that it would be an important opportunity to become part of the school and local community. Donna is keen to understand and support the teaching of curriculum and non-curriculum activities within the school.

Hannah Lefebure – Parent Governor Term of office ends January 2014
Hannah is a member of the Finance and Human Resources Committees. She is married with one son, who is currently in year one at Horsington School. Hannah was delighted to recently have been elected as a parent governor. She strongly believes in the importance of education and is looking forward to the many challenges of the role. She is a human resources professional, although not currently working, and hopes to be able to actively support and be involved in the work of the school.

Vicky Franklin - LA Governor - term of office February 2014
Vicky is a member of the Learning Environment Committee. She lives in Horsington and helps her husband run the local garage. Both she and her husband were born in the area and see the school as an essential part of the local community. Vicky is currently working on a 'casual relief' basis for local Libraries and is grateful for the opportunity to become involved with Horsington Primary School again.
